Digital cameras have specific sensors designed around the electronics of the whole package
A 7mp sensor on a P%26amp;S camera is plenty. If you really want more pixels jammed on the sensor, you will have to buy a new camera.
That said, if your reason for wanting more pixels is higher quality images, more pixels will not do the trick.

What is most important is the sensor size, not the number of pixels.
Better quality images is dependent upon your skills using the camera
