I know on PCs you can press 'control t' to change the image size but on the mac that doesn't work. If you go to 'image' then 'image size' and change the pixels it changes the whole layer size. How do i only change the image size.

Choose the''Eliptical/Rectangular Marquee'' tool,
(make sure there is at least one layer with something in it) Then Right click over the image you wish to change and go to ''Free Transform''
Now you will be able to change the shape,size and angle of your image.
