I want to put two pictures together on gimp. But the one picture has a better quality (more pixels) than the other. How do i make them the same amount of pixels.
(I would prefer to make the low pixel one better quality.)
Thank you :-)How Do I Change The Amount Of Pixels On Gimp?
One thing that you can try is to select the Rectangle selection tool (R), and click anywhere on the canvas (image you are working with) and hit (Ctrl + A, then Ctrl + C). After you do this, create a new image File %26gt; New... Click on Advance Options, and change the x/y resolutions to 144dpi to 300dpi, color space should be RGB and fill with: Transparent. Also make sure that the Width and height are correct, if you click new with in the image you are working with it should automatically set these to the correct proportions.
Next click on your canvas and hit (Ctrl + V) and (Ctrl + H) this will paste it and anchor the image. You may need to create a larger Canvas and scale (Shift + T) the image to a larger image. If the Pixels are low you may need to use the Blur and Sharpen Filters to help fix it up, Filters %26gt; Blur %26gt; Gaussian Blur | %26amp; | Filters %26gt; Enhance %26gt; Sharpen.
Here is a tutorial on Smart Sharpening: http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/Smart_Shar
When putting the images together keep them on seperate layers so that you may easially edit them later.
Oh and don't forget to save the image as a .png format image to keep the quality, and you may want to save it in the GIMP native format .xcf to keep the layer so that you may edit it later.
PS, 4.1.3.1. IIR vs. RLE Gaussian Blurs
* GIMP supports two implementations of Gaussian Blur: IIR G.B. and RLE G.B.
* They both produce the same results, but each one can be faster in some cases.
RLE Gaussian Blur
* RLE stands for run-length encoding
* RLE Gaussian Blur is best used on computer-generated images or those with large areas of constant intensity.
IIR Gaussian Blur
* IIR stands for ';Infinite Impulse Responce';.
* This blur works best for large radius values and for images which are not computer generated. How Do I Change The Amount Of Pixels On Gimp?
you can't. but you can sharpen the lower quality image.
