How to increase image pixels?

is there a way to change the pixels? to something higher? i need to take a 400x400 image and make it 2750x1850 pixels. any way?How to increase image pixels?
You can always increase the number of pixels of any image, but it will always distort. The analogy is taking lemonade and pouring it into a small glass. You only have one ounce of lemonade, but you want to drink eight ounces. So you fill the glass with seven ounces of water. Will you be drinking eight ounces? For sure. Will the lemonade be diluted? Yes.

Increasing the overall canvas (taking the 400 square image and making a matte around the image) is different, as this is simply like putting one ounce of lemonade in an eight ounce glass. Original strength, more space to put other stuff.

If you take a 400 square image and make it five times the size, that means each pixel of actual image data will be copied that number of times. Certain programs like Photoshop can extrapolate between pixels, so it's somewhat smoother, but the data is calculated (averaged), not actual image data.

Sadly, the best way to get a 2750x1850 pixel image, is to take it that way to start out with.

Also, if you have a 400 square image, you may be able to find the original (assuming it's public) by using TinEye (www.tineye.com) which is a free on-line image search engine which also lets you sort by image size. So if your image is a copy of a larger image elsewhere, it may be able to find it for you.

Hope this helps, and good luck! How to increase image pixels?
any photoshop i can make it larger but thats a huge step and may get distorted
You can enlarge the image, but it will have a grainny look to it. I would not recommend it.
